What Is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness means simply to remember to pay attention to what is occurring in one’s immediate experience with care and discernment. It refers to one’s moment-to-moment awareness, and is more a way of being than a specific practice. When you are mindful you are more conscious of what you are thinking, feeling, seeing, and doing. It is about being fully present and aware, whether you are walking the family dog, talking to a friend or loved one, or doing the dishes. This is mindfulness in action.

Research has shown mindfulness to be central to health and wellbeing. It is an effective component in both preventive medicine and disease treatment. Furthermore, research has shown mindfulness to enhance positive psychological constructs including compassion, well-being, resiliency and positive coping.

Our mindfulness training platform, delivered through the Aikens Approach, has been well studied with published results. We have found a 30% decrease in perceived stress, a 15% increase in work engagement and well-being, a 13% increase in resiliency and a 50% decrease in burnout among participants at a Fortune 100 company.  Our resources, lessons, and tools were developed exclusively for the business environment. Our interactive programs can be delivered in the format that best fits your organization’s needs.
